August Unbeleafable Award Winner
Each month Aspire collects outstanding employee recognition called Un-Be-Leaf-Able nominations. These are voted upon and awarded monthly.
All of the monthly award winners are voted upon each year to select our yearly Un-be-leaf-able Award winner.
Last week as day services was ending, Najma was assisting people to get in the van to leave. Myself and 2 others had gone out back for break and heard that people were escalating. The three of us quickly determined that we would hinder the situation vs. help so we stayed out of sight and waited to see if we were needed. Najma was a rockstar using her fantastic de-escalation skills until another staff had to come to assist her. She stayed calm, never showing frustration and kept her tone and voice calm and soothing. This may not seem like this is anything extraordinary, but in my eyes it was. It’s not always easy to keep our frustrations at bay and stay person-centered in those high behavioral situations, but every situation that I have seen Najma handle, she has been consistent. Just wanted to say that these things do not go unnoticed especially when I am so passionate about Person Centeredness. Thank you Najma for being such an amazing employee!
