June Shooting Star Award Winner

Aspire is proud to recognize Angela Huffman as our June Shooting Star Award Winner!

 

Each month Aspire collects outstanding employee recognition called Shooting Star nominations.  These are voted upon and awarded at our monthly staff meeting.  All of the monthly award winners are voted upon each year to select our yearly Shooting Star Award winner.

We have all been dealing with COVID for a little over three months, Angela has been dealing with this for close to 6 months. she has worked endlessly trying to get PPE supplies, trying to stay up on the latest CDC recommendations, providing training and teaching materials to all staff and people supported, monitoring of staff and people supported’s health, weekly calls for supplies, plus doing all of her other duties. There are many times when I come to work that there will be an email or message from Angela after work hours or before I get to work. I question if she had taken time to sleep.

On Thursday June 4th we had our second family Town Hall Meeting and we had a couple of family members mention how pleased they are of Aspire’s response during this time. This is due to all of our staff’s actions along with the direction that Angela has given us. she has had to make some hard decisions but I think Aspire is sitting in a much better place due to those decisions!

I keep checking in to see if Angela still has her marbles (depends on the day) but I personally want to give a huge thanks and hug to Angela for all that she has done for us during this time of uncertainty!
