We recently got a new VR referral.  We had never met the lady before, she lives in Ipswich and got a job in Ipswich.  We didn’t know about this until Monday morning as the notification email came to us after hours on the Friday before.

When she saw the email, Debbie called the lady’s mother to find out for sure her start date at her new job.  Sure enough it was that day from 2-9pm.  Debbie didn’t hesitate to go out to Ipswich.  I informed Debbie I could go with her or come our after office hours were done but she said she would be fine.  Debbie and her new client hit it off, it was a good fit.

Even though this is a part of an Employment Specialists job, we have never job coached someone outside of Aberdeen’s city limits before. It was a new experience and I appreciate Debbie for going above and beyond with a new adventure.  Great team spirit!!

I’m a mother hen and had Debbie text when she got there, when she was coming back to Aberdeen and when she got home.  It was a long, 14 hour day by the time she got home but she did great!!
