I just want to express my appreciation for Becca’s help in an ISP meeting recently.  I tried very hard to keep the conversation on task and in a timely manner, which is tough when a family member is pessimistic even when everyone was advised to stay positive and respectful to all opinions.  The family member completely shut down one of my own ideas and was pretty rude about it.  Becca stepped in and let her know her behavior was disrespectful.  Becca was very calm and did this in a professional and tactful manner. (I was the one who was worked up, even though I’m supposed to be the impartial, non-judgmental facilitator.)  I appreciate her stepping up for me.  Even after that, this family member turned around and did it again to a DSP.  And again, Becca stepped up for her.  I think Aspire is doing a wonderful job with this person by promoting independence AND being professional while enduring this family member.  I appreciate them backing me up also.
